Our team have been helping the Gatton community for a long time and are here to help you stay healthy. Having a Doctor that you can trust is very important and we understand the necessity for your privacy to be kept very confidential.
A number of our doctors also speak a number of different languages.
Dr Aung Oo
Began at our practice in April 2013. Dr Oo graduated in Burma and worked there and also in Fiji before coming to Australia in 2007. He worked for the Townsville Hospital for three years, followed by the Toowoomba Hospital for another three years, and then in 2012 he begun work at the Laidley Hospital and Laidley Family Doctors. Dr Oo’s interests include minor trauma and injuries, child health, chronic diseases, respiratory medicine, and mental health issues.
Dr Aung Oo also speaks Burmese.
Dr Htay
Joined our practice in May 2008. He has been practising medicine since 1987 after graduating in Burma. Dr Htay practised in South Africa for ten years and moved to Australia in 2003 as a Medical Registrar at the QEII Hospital. He then moved to General Practice Training and was awarded FRACGP in 2010. Dr Htay enjoys providing comprehensive primary health care to the public, especially to the rural population.
Dr Thaung also speaks Burmese.
Dr Rajendra Gurung
Dr Rajendra achieved his MBBS in Bangladesh in 2004, with a Masters in Orthopaedics in 2011. Dr Rajendra has worked in various hospitals in Nepal as a Junior Doctor before becoming an Orthopaedic registrar in 2008. He has since worked in Parkes NSW as a GP. His areas of interests are Orthopaedics, Minor surgery, Skin checks/and Skin excisions, Paediatrics, Family Planning, and Chronic Disease Management. Dr Rajendra holds certificates in Family Planning, Occupational Medicine, advanced skin cancer surgery and Advanced skin cancer medicine.

Dr Navya Murthy:
Dr Navya Bittasandra Sachidananda Murthy is a PG5+ (Australian) with extensive experience in both hospital and clinic settings. Holds Diploma of Child Health (Sydney Children’s Hospital)
Specialising in Women’s health, Chronic disease management, Mental heatlh, Counselling and Emergency Medicine
Dr Jaideep Bali:
Dr Jaideep Bali is an Australian-based health professional.
Specialising in Travel Vaccination, Men’s Women’s and Children’s Health, Blood Pressure Check and Family Medicine.
I can speak Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
Dr Jawaid Yaqub
27 years of extensive experience in hospitals and general practice; including 15 years in general practice with clinical and management experience involving diagnosis, treatment and management of complex medical conditions and teaching of junior doctors and medical students. I have been a Director and an Owner of Medical Centres and have developed and managed medical centres in the last 12 years.
Dr Jawaid also speaks Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
Maria (Lia) Francisco
Lia has been working as a Registered Nurse in the Community for the past 16 years now. Through experience and hard work Lia developed traits that make her effective as an RN. Patience, knowledge how to deal with people, being there for them, giving an extra mile for their health and care needs that is safe for me and them, being compassionate are some traits to name a few. Being a community RN, Lia tend to do a whole range of Nursing procedures autonomously.
Emma Thomas
Endorsed Enrolled Nurse has joined the practice in December 2020. Emma has a particular interest in chronic disease management and patient education.
Sarah Burrell
Sarah is a Registered Nurse working four days in a week. Sarah has a particular interest towards Chronic Disease Management and Child Health.
